Why Petrol & Diesel Won’t Be Included Under GST

The most awaited decision of putting petrol and diesel under the GST slab may not be implemented anytime soon in India. The report comes after both central and state govt showed fear of losing a considerable amount of revenue and did not favor the one nation, one tax policy. GST was implemented in 2017 from July 1, completing one full year of ups and downs last month.
Many industries received benefits from its implementation while others showed how they were badly hit by the change in tax policy. GST basically combines value added tax, service tax and excise duty, dividing products into four slabs of 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%. Most everyday products fall in the first two segments while availing services from most sources are taxed under the 18% slab.

Automobile sector falls under the 28% segment, further getting higher tax rates by including additional cess on these base values. The biggest example is the above 4-meter car segment, paying 53% of total tax with 25% of cess on the base value. Most experts were believing the fact that the government will tax petrol and diesel under the 28% slab with a bigger cess than that seen on the car market.

One such example of huge taxation is the tobacco industry, paying 160% of cess over the regular 28% taxation. Presently, petroleum products and alcohol are the only industries that are out of the GST regime. The highest amount of VAT charged on petrol is in Mumbai whereas all UTs have the lowest taxation on petroleum products.

GST was a brilliant idea of bringing things under one umbrella but, the application of cess on the ground values have disturbed many industries. For some, the values remain identical as government played safe by putting a similar amount of GST as the total of earlier taxes, which also includes access.

India Post Payments Bank launch today: 10 things to know
The government aims to link all the 1.55 lakh post offices to the India Post Payments Bank system by 31 December, 2018

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on Saturday. India Post Payments Bank will focus on providing banking and financial services to people in rural areas, by leveraging the reach of 1.55 lakh post office branches. “On the day of the launch, IPPB will have 650 branches and 3,250 access points spread across the country,” the government said in a statement. The government aims to link all the 1.55 lakh post offices to the India Post Payments Bank system by 31 December, 2018.

10 things to know about India Post Payments Bank

1) India Post Payments Bank has been set up under the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication, with 100% equity owned by Government of India.

2) It started operations on 30 January, 2017, by opening two pilot branches, one at Raipur and the other at Ranchi.

3) India Post Payments Bank will offer 4 per cent interest rate on savings accounts.

4) Payments banks can accept deposits of up to Rs 1 lakh per account from individuals and small businesses, but do not have the mandate to extend loans.

5) But India Post Payments Bank will, in alliance with other financial service providers, offer third-party products. For example, in case of loans, India Post Payments Bank will work as an agent of PNB.

6) India Post Payments Bank will offer a range of products such as savings and current accounts, money transfer, direct benefit transfers, bill and utility payments, and enterprise and merchant payments.

7) These products, and services, will be offered across multiple channels (counter services, micro-ATM, mobile banking app, SMS and IVR), using the India Post Payments Bank’s technology platform.
8) India Post Payments Bank has been allowed to link around 17 crore postal savings bank (PSB) accounts with its accounts.

9) India Post Payments Bank “has been envisioned as an accessible, affordable and trusted bank for the common man,” the government said in statement. It will leverage the vast network of the Department of Posts, which covers every corner of the country with more than 300,000 postmen and grameen dak sewaks.

10) The Cabinet earlier this week approved an 80% increase in spending for India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) to Rs 1,435 crore. The increase will take the IPPB project outlay to Rs 1,435 crore from Rs 800 crore -- giving it additional firepower to compete in the market with existing operators like Airtel Payments Bank and Paytm Payments Bank.

Writing a resume can be tricky business. Regardless of its length, you can easily overlook important things or include others that are totally irrelevant. This is where having a resume checklist comes handy.

Which is why bring you one! Have a look at the points below to make sure you didn’t miss anything. Good luck.

1. Contact information

Make sure to include your personal details — full name, address, phone number and email address. Optionally, you can provide a link to your LinkedIn profile and your portfolio website.

2. Headline

Formulate a short, powerful statement that will outline who you are and what skills and qualities you can bring to the table. This sentence can sometimes even determine whether the recruiter reads the rest of your resume. Make sure it’s good.

3. Summary

Write a couple of brief but comprehensive sentences to showcase your skills and accomplishments. Explain how you can benefit the company that gets your application. Indirectly, you should also address the qualifications outlined in the job description.

4. Relevant knowledge and skills

Using bullet points, compose a concise list of your skills, knowledge and professional certifications that are directly related to the position.

5. Unique value proposition

Make your unique value proposition (UVP) shine through your resume. UVP is a clear statement that describes why you’re uniquely qualified for the position and what makes you stand out from other applicants.

6. Work experience

Include a concise summary of your work history. Don’t forget to mention the company name, the roles you had there, and any particular duties and accomplishments you’re proud of.

Follow reverse chronological order and list the newest positions first. You can skip part-time jobs and internships once you’ve already had at least two full-time jobs.

7. Employment gaps

Make sure there are no gaps in your employment history. If there are, don’t lie and address them in your cover letter. Try to describe the gap in a good light.

Maybe you were travelling, learning a new skill or developing soft skills. If none of this applies, you can always say you needed to take a break to focus on a career change.

8. Education

As far as education is concerned, university and college degrees are what matters the most. Your education should be listed in reverse chronological order, too. And another good advice — it’s unnecessary to include your secondary education unless you are still in high school.

9. Volunteer experience

Feel free to list any volunteering positions you have held. This section is optional, but might be helpful especially if your experience is relevant to the job you’re applying to.

10. Industry-specific extras

Last but not least, include relevant licenses and certifications that you hold. List your professional affiliations and memberships. Every little detail matters and this might be the section that will help you to land the job.

11. Numbers and metrics

Numbers are attractive. They are a great tool for drawing attention. Use them to better illustrate your successwherever appropriate.

12. Mistakes

Even a small spelling or grammar mistake can ruin your entire application. Have someone proofread your resume to see if you didn’t miss anything. Minute things like spelling and punctuation measure an applicant’s attention to detail.

13. Capitalization

This one is a tough nut to crack. Common mistakes people make on their resumes include degrees (use BSc instead of Bsc), names of roads (yes, the first letter should be capitalized) or job titles.

14. Fonts

Consistency and clarity is key. Use two font types in your resume at the maximum. The most common ones are Times New Roman, Verdana, Arial and Calibri. The font size should be between 10-12 points.

15. Page format

Generally, try to keep your resume to about 1 page per 10 years of job experience. Your resume shouldn’t be longer than 2 x A4 pages unless you’re a senior executive with decades of experience.

As for page formatting, use at least 1-inch margins throughout your resume. Your goal is to leave enough white space to keep the pages from looking messy. It will improve your resume’s flow and make it appealing to the reader’s eyes.

Always send your resume as a PDF file. This format will help maintain its layout, whereas for DOC or TXT files this might not always be the case.

16. Appearance

Make sure your resume passes the ‘arm’s length’ test. Hold it at arm’s length in front of you and check whether it looks aesthetically pleasing and professional.

A good way to enhance the appearance of your resume is to bold, underline or italicize important information. Also, think about using bullet points when listing information. It will add clarity and structure to your resume.

17. Pattern of reading

Eye-tracking research shows that one of the mostprominent patterns of readingis the shape of the letter F. This means that the recruiter will scan your resume across the top third of each page and down the left hand side. These areas should include your most important and impressive details.

18. Editing

Your paragraphs should be condensed to a few lines each — 5 to 7 lines is the optimal length. If it starts to look like you’re piling up large blocks of text, think about using bullet points instead.

Also, double check alignment of all items on your resume. Sloppy formatting indicates carelessness, which is a thing you can easily avoid.

19. Ordering

Nothing in your resume is fixed. Depending on the current stage of your career, you might want some information on your resume stand out. Play around with the order to create the best possible impression of your career.

20. Creativity

Unleash your creative genius and replace generic verbs with more specific ones. Instead of saying ‘made’ or ‘done’, opt for action verbs like ‘developed’ or ‘perfected’.

This applies to adjectives as well. You can prevent monotony in your resume with the help of thesaurus. Avoid average sounding words like ‘good’ or ‘big’ and juice up your resume with adjectives like ‘exceptional’, ‘valuable’ or ‘substantial’.

21. Truthfulness

Resist the urge to lie or embellish any of your previous jobs, skills or achievements. Today in the age of technology, information is easily accessible. Believe it or not, being honest and truthful pays off.

22. Cover letter

The cover letter is a valuable complement of your resume. It enables you to go into detail and provides better insight into your personality. For more information, follow our comprehensive guide into the art of creating a perfect cover letter.

23. Hyperlinks

Whether it’s a link to your portfolio or references, make sure all hyperlinks in your resume work. This is particularly important if you are sending your resume by email to an online recruiter.

24. References

References are optional unless specified on the job opening. Adding either “references available upon request” or reference names with their contact information is usually sufficient.

If you are asked for references, it’s a good custom to include them on a separate sheet. If possible, try to obtain two references — one from an academic referee and one from a former employer. Include their full name, job title, address and phone number. Using your spouse or partner as a referee is strongly discouraged.

25. Hobbies and interests

List a wide range of interests in your resume. This will show you’re a well-rounded individual with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people. Also, including group and social interests will create the impression that you get along well with others.

26. Social media

It’s no surprise that recruiters use any available resources to check out the backgrounds of their job candidates. Always remember that the possibility to look you up on the Internet is just a click away.

Be sure to clean up your social media accounts if necessary. Whether it’s Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn, your profile needs to be kept in shape before you start fishing for a new job.

27. Feedback

It’s always good to have someone competent to have a look at the final draft of your resume. Try to get feedback from a variety of sources — career/placement professionals, people working in the sector, course lecturers, or your good friends.

Good advice is worth its weight in gold. Incorporate it to your resume and it will take your job hunt to the next level.

That’s the end of our resume checklist. You’re ready.

Keep polishing your resume until it’s as close to perfection as possible. It will take some time and patience, but it’s a valued asset that will help you beat the competition.
A recent report in the automotive industry claims that Bajaj Auto is currently working on a new400cc Bajaj Engine (DOHC) that will use triple spark technology, in house developed ECU and different gearing. The new motorcycle is expected to bring almost 40 HP of maximum power.

Bajaj Auto has announced the launch of two new products for January 2018, one of which is expected to be the new Avenger. As they also cleared the air of a bigger Pulsar coming next month, the launch is expected to bring big numbers to the company lineup.

That makes this development and January launch two different affairs. Bajaj Auto is losing a big share from the commuter centric market and they are preparing to gain almost 3-4% from the Indian market.

That is actually not possible with a 400cc motorcycle. Pulsar RS400, the worthy performance upgrade to RS200, has the highest chances of getting this new power-train as Avenger 400 would not be tuned to a higher spec version than Bajaj Dominar 400. The trend has been always visible among Bajaj Pulsar 220F and Avenger 220 Cruise.

If they don’t want TVS to enjoy a chunk of premium bike sale, a product like RS400 is the best bet within this segment. Presently, Dominar 400 is the flagship product for Bajaj Auto. Dominar got itself 1004 units in November 2017 while it was expected to bring over 10,000 units in sale till this month. Being a worthy product, it still could not eat into the huge 49,534 units of Royal Enfield Classic 350.

The on-road price tag of under INR 1.60 lakh is the benchmark for five digit sales as no other product around this price tag (except RE Bullet) has entered the five digit club. The entry of a bigger Avenger 400 will again ignite the hope of Bajaj Auto for getting some share out of this future friendly performance cruising segment.

But in a tragic incident in Jaipur, a helmet was the villain which resulted in the death of a 34-year-old man in Jaipur on Thursday.

That too, it was no ordinary protection, it was a AGV - K3 helmet worth Rs 50,000, known for its quality and durability.

Rohit Singh Shekhawat, a superbike enthusiast from Jaipur died after his Rs 22 lakh Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R slipped off the road and crashed on Thursday.
Shekhawat, who worked as a sales manager with an automotive company died of brain hemorrhage after his helmet got stuck on his head.

He met with the accident while returning home after he tried to save a man crossing the road.
"It seems that Shekhawat was driving in high speed and applied sudden brakes when he found a man crossing the road ahead of him. The bike skidded and biker slammed into a divider," said investigation officer Dalip Singh.

Google has released the list of the most trending four-wheelers and two-wheelers in 2017 and the list has some surprising names.

As the year draws to a close, it’s time to reflect on the months that flew by. 2017 saw a whole lot of action from the automotive space, with launches ranging from a humble utilitarian scooter like the Honda Cliq, to a racetrack-ready supercar like the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Of course, the interwebs were abuzz with scoops, discussions and a whole lotta gyaan.

Google has released their list of the top trending cars and bikes of the year. And the results are, let’s say, interesting. There are some surprises, and we raised quite a few eyebrows ourselves. Let’s kick things off with the four-wheeled section.

Topping the trend charts is Maruti’s oh-so-lovable Swift. Interestingly, the hatchback is at the end of its life cycle. The anticipation for the new Swift that debuts next year has definitely fuelled the hatchback’s search volumes. Runners up include Jeep’s blockbuster - the Compassand Tata’s flagship - the Hexa. While the baby Jeep is charting a sales success story like no other for FCA, Tata’s big boy is cementing the brand’s name in the premium end of the market.

And, it’s not just the Hexa that’s making waves online. The Nexon’s in fourth place, followed by the quirky-yet-likeable Ignis. There are surprise entrants in the list too, such as the Volkswagen Polo GTI at tenth. The luxury spectrum saw some action too, with Mercedes-Benz’ CLA and Volvo’s XC60 trending at number eight and nine, respectively.

The two-wheeled trends are equally fascinating to note. It was the Suzuki Intruder that emerged as the most trending two-wheeler in India thereby confirming the soft spot Indian bikers have for cruiser bikes. The styling of the Intruder is polarising but the first cruiser motorcycle offering from Suzuki did manage to create lot of curiosity among Indian bikers. And the second most searched two-wheeler was a scooter which doesn’t really come as a surprise as scooter sales have skyrocketed. The snazzy-looking Grazia is the most expensive Honda scooter to go on sale India and was the second highest searched two-wheeler.

What really amazed us was the fact that it was the Indian Scout that was the third highest trending two-wheeler. Yes, the Scout is a beautiful looking motorcycle and also the most affordable in the American bikemaker’s portfolio but so much curiosity for this bike was a bit startling. There were some popular offerings also in the list like the new Royal Enfield 650 twins, and the recently launched TVS Apache RR 310. The new Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 will be the first twin-cylinder bikes to be made in India while the Apache RR 310 is the flagship offering from TVS.

We were also surprised by the absence of a few well-known names. For instance, popular cars such as the Hyundai Verna, Ford EcoSport and the new Maruti Dzirefailed to enter the top ten. As far as two-wheelers are concerned, we were shocked to see bikes such as the Yamaha FZ25, KTM 390 Duke and the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 not make the cut.

Notably, none of the cars that trended in 2016 managed to make a reappearance this time round. Last year, the lists were topped by the Mahindra KUV100 and the Bajaj Vikrant respectively.

Sales Report (October 2017): Sales in October 2017 were slightly over the average yearly sales of motorcycles in India. Surprisingly, the instant festive push was only seen in September 2017.

Top manufacturers were seen posting record sales for last 10 days of the month while some were seen pushing their remaining stock with huge offers for the buyer.

As always, Hero Splendor remained the top selling motorcycle with 2,15,631 units. The model contains sales from variants named Splendor Plus, Pro, iSmart 110 and Super Splendor.

Second model on the list is Hero HF Deluxe at 1,51,656 Units in October 2017, proving its worth for every single rupee spent on it from last few years. Hero Passion and Glamour stood third and fourth respectively with 99,997 and 76,830 units respectively. Fifth spot was bagged by Honda CB Shine with 71,133 units.

These five bikes are purely commuter friendly and that shows how our market is dominated by fuel efficient machines with basic purpose of travelling a fixed distance from A to B everyday. Well, there is nothing bad in this at all.

But, from a purist point of view, this limits the Indian market to products that are here from several decades and new ones can never take their place at any cost. We will continue with this thought after next five top selling motorcycles of October 2017.

Bajaj Pulsar series, consisting of almost seven variants, got the sixth position with 64,223 units. Next two spots are again bagged by Bajaj bikes. CT100 and Platina were good for 59,827 and 52,834 units respectively. Both are almost based on the same platform.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 came ninth with 48,469 units while TVS Apache series (with 3 different models and nearly uncountable variants) got the tenth position with 34,185 units. Coming back to the market scenario, I, as a writer and a motorcycle lover, feel that things are restricted to needs and not into an individual’s desire.

Allow me to compare two different markets and then, it would be easy to understand why India always get the products that are not up to the global standards of performance.
Fans are always keen to know when will they get Duke 125 or G310R in India. If this goes the same way, they will never make it to India, even after being manufactured here in many cases. Trends play an important role here and the change is coming at the least interesting speed for the purist.

The blame game starts from the government and revolve around masses for every delay and in this case, it comes to be the same as ever. Lack of promising public transport starts the cycle and here you can understand the same in detail.
The word ‘I’ used here is an imaginative character. Heavily filled buses forced ‘I’ into buying a commuter and that almost took away the down payment of his dream (let’s suppose 302R in this case). If I was satisfied with the bus service, he would have saved more and traveled by the same bus for next few months.

More profit for the government indirectly. Instead of buying a bike worth INR 1 lakh, I would have bought the 302R, which will be used for pure driving pleasure and not an A to B commute. The same brand manufactures both the 125cc as well as the 300cc bikes internationally. They will get the desired profit by selling either of them. All it depends upon is the need of the masses.

I alone cannot change this trend but if you guys love riding more than everything else, these things matter a lot practically. Buy your dream machine. Always take care of the environment. Use a bicycle whenever possible and ride free all across India like you never did before.

Samsung has accidentally confirmed its intentions to launch the foldable smartphone; Galaxy X. Samsung has showcased foldable mobile devices for years at tech trade shows, but it never was ready to launch one, but it seems that Galaxy X might break the bar.

Galaxy X Is In The Making

A support page on Samsung’s own site confirms the existence of the Galaxy X. The alleged support page is for an ‘SM-G888N0’ phone, although the page doesn’t shed light on what the model name stands for. This model number has been spotted in the past too.

Some reports suggest that the ‘NO’ in the model number suggest that the phone might launch in South Korea before making its way to other markets. According to Mobiel Kopen, the SM-G888N0 has already been passed through several certifications, which includes Bluetooth SIG, South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency, and Wi-Fi Alliance.

Samsung Galaxy X was earlier code-named “Project Valley”. According to some reports, Samsung will manufacture the X in small numbers, to begin with, which apparently means that it may not get a wide release.

The cost of an bike is primarily based on the following factors. This applies for almost all products that are manufactured.

Raw material cost - Cost if the different materials used for your productsConversion cost - Prcoessing cost of raw materials to an finished partOverhead cost - Salaries of employees,Etc.Development cost - R&D investments used for developing a product.

Considering this above factors Honda and Yamaha manufacturers bikes in India with local facilities around different states. TVSM and Bajaj is also makes and sells across India.

But the primary difference comes in terms of development of product say in R&D. TVSM and Bajaj has indigenous development centres in India whereas Yamaha and Honda has to import designs and develop here in India. Though they have manufacturing and development in India almost all their products are mainly developed in Japan for Indian market and the design in implemented here in India. One could disagree that they have their own R&D here so they develop here. But unfortunately it is not so. Every product drawing which is requested for change has to go through their Japanese counter parts and then it is implemented with proper approval.

In terms of raw materials and conversions along with over head cost all four are similar. Being it the supplier development of individual parts, Employing the locals all are same. But the main catch is as I said the over head cost in developing the part is the difference. Bajaj and TVSM being the home grown companies they are developing products with an high price sensitive tone considering price sensitive market of India. And they sell it for an less price with an less development cost. Not that they don't do more developments. Their technology and development methods are on par with Honda and Yamaha.

Also hero is similar but the cost of royalty to Honda designs Is keeping their prices 3% above others. But due to large volume of their sales they are able to balance it out. So they are also coming out with new designs of their own but I wouldn't agree that they have completely came out Honda designs.

Lastly like someone pointed out in earlier answer branding price is also adds up but it is close to negligible.

The cosmic powers are at work brining you endless energy this year as per 2018 Scorpio Horoscope. But make sure you keep away from aggression. Overall, you will feel light and happy and this will also reflect in how you speak to others. Your speech will be clear-cut and to the point, but almost at the edge of being candid. In this regard, you need to be particularly careful from March to November months. There is a need to keep your impatience in check. On a positive note, your will power, courage and stamina will be at peak during this time.

On a larger scale, this year will bring plenty of luck strokes and ample support from father. You will feel at ease with your inner being. There will be plenty of opportunities to reinvent yourself with possibilities of spiritual travel.

Chances of going abroad exist from March to July for foreign settlement but with the possibility of return to homeland during these months itself. Expenses will surmount at the same time so be a bit careful in money matters. The period around March also demands caution in business.

Saturn will make you more disciplined and straightforward this year. You wont tolerate any misbehavior or injustice. From October onwards, Jupiter is moving into Scorpio and this change may not turn out to be much opportune. However, the period before October is a great time for profits to mushroom in business and also for business loans. If you are employed, expect to get a lot of support from your coworkers before October. However, you need to work a bit harder to maintain your cool and healthy work relationships.

For marriage matters, the period after August may not be much promising. You will need to exercise care, as distance from loved ones is possible. If considering second marriage, good possibilities exist during this period.

For study matters, this year shows positive potential, except from March to July. During this period, you should refrain from changing your subject or institution as the decision might not prove favorable in the long run. Overall, your 2018 horoscopeseems promising, provided you keep the above suggestions in view and work on temperamental issues.
The Justice League has been DC’s flagship superhero team for decades. After fighting against injustice for more than 50 years, it’s no surprise the League’s history has accumulated some odd details.

Some of those moments are charming, like the Atom’s tiny flying chair at JLA meetings. Some of them stem from a writer trying to shake things up (that badass Batman secretly plots to destroy his team!) or coming up with a quirky story (a teenage boy figures how to kill the JLA). Sometimes it’s the passage of time that makes what once seemed unremarkable now look quaint, like the Silver Age JLA’s old-fashioned methods of finding crimes to stop. Of course, the passage of time also makes things like the long years without any minority members look embarrassing by today’s standards.

The Justice League movie coming out this summer is just the latest development in a long, heroic, and sometimes outright crazy history. Read on for 16 fun facts from the JLA’s colorful past.

16. SUPERMAN KILLS AN ALIEN IN THE JLA’S ORIGIN, THEN JOKES ABOUT IT

Superman’s code against killing has been a fundamental part of his character for decades. When he does kill, it’s usually a big, big deal, as in the climax of the 2013 Man of Steel movie, or executing three Kryptonian criminals in Superman#22. And then there’s Justice League of America #9.

The story is a flashback as the team tells honorary member Snapper Carr how they first came together fighting aliens from the planet Appellax. The ETs weren’t conquering Earth, just fighting a war of succession here to spare their own planet the damage. The Appellaxian fighting Superman is a diamond creature, so Superman reverses his old trick of squeezing coal into diamonds. Instead, he rubs the alien’s diamond body until it turns into coal and dies. When Snapper asks how that’s even possible, Superman quips that he “rubbed the diamond creature the wrong way.” Of course, the rest of the team killed the other Appellaxians just as dead, but none of them laughed about it.

15. MALCOLM MERLYN ON ARROW IS BASED ON A JLA VILLAIN, NOT A GREEN ARROW FOE

John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn has been one of Arrow’s most memorable villains, a role he’s now extended to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. It would be logical to think he’s based on one of Green Arrow’s comic-book villains, but that’s not the case. Merlyn was actually one of the JLA’s foes, and a D-lister at that.

When the JLA first meets Merlyn (Justice League of America #94), Green Arrow remembers competing against him in an archery tournament years ago. GA lost, but he makes up for it at the story’s climax by outshooting Merlyn, preventing his assassination of Batman. Most of Merlyn’s subsequent appearances involved more fights against the League, for example as a member of the assassin team the Killer Elite. None of them were against Green Arrow one on one, and none of them made him interesting. Arrow did, so it’s no surprise there’s now a new, TV-influenced Merlyn in the comics. And this Merlyn is finally taking a personal interest in fighting Green Arrow.

14. THE SILVER AGE JLA LEARNED ABOUT CRIMES FROM SNAIL MAIL AND RADIO NEWS

1960s Justice League adventures could start several ways. Sometimes, the villain came after them, as in Justice League of America #3. Sometimes, one member discovered a major threat and called in the team (#1). And every so often, they heard about it on Snapper Carr’s transistor radio.

In #31, for instance, the team sit around their meeting table until they hear a radio news report about a gang of untouchable thieves. They wouldn’t have known nuclear war was breaking out in #40 if not for a radio news bulletin.

Concerned citizens also alerted the JLA by mail. In #6, for instance, a museum curator writes for their help catching an invisible thief. In #45, they get a letter about an alien monster threatening the Earth — but as the mail plane crashed, they get it two years late. The world’s probably lucky that the team later switched to more high-tech methods of monitoring.

Still, the old-school approach did add a human touch. In #6, the League also answers a letter from a woman who needs their help to find a lost fortune and save her family’s home. Even the best computer surveillance system wouldn’t have red-flagged that one.

13. ONE OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE’S ARCH-ENEMIES WAS ONE OF DREAM’S FIRST FOES IN SANDMAN

In Justice League of America #5, criminal scientist Dr. Destiny has the bright idea to destroy the Justice League before he launches his crime career. He lost, of course, but he didn’t give up. Instead, he developed a technology that allowed him to manipulate dreams and bring them into reality. Creating adversaries from the JLA’s own nightmares, Dr. Destiny bedeviled them repeatedly throughout the Silver Age and beyond. So it’s not surprising that Destiny’s big non-JLA adversary was Morpheus, AKA Dream, the protagonist of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman.

The opening issue of Sandmanestablished that Dream had been trapped by an occult group years earlier (not intentionally; they’d been trying for his sister, death). When Morpheus finally breaks free, he spends the next few issues looking for the talismans that the cult stole from him. Dr. Destiny is actually the son of the cult leader’s mistress, and his exposure to one of the talismans gave him his uncanny power over dreams. Naturally, when Destiny realizes the full power of the talisman, he has no intention of giving it back. When the talisman gets trashed, however, Morpheus regains his full power and moves on to fresh adventures.

12. THE JUSTICE LEAGUE WENT 23 YEARS WITHOUT A BLACK MEMBER

One of the things that tarnishes the Silver Age is how very, very, very white it was. White heroes. White teams of heroes. Mostly white supporting casts. At Marvel, the Avengers finally inducted the Black Panther as a member in 1968. The JLA lagged way behind, inducting its first black member in 1984, when writer Gerry Conway introduced the “Detroit League.”

Conway hoped to improve the series, and its sales, by replacing heroes with their own books, such as Superman and Batman, in favor of characters he alone would control. Those included Vixen, a black superhero he’d created several years earlier, and the all-new Latino hero Vibe. While the diversity was welcome, the change in direction wasn’t. The Detroit era plodded along until the series expired three years later, followed by a new series and creative team. It would take The CW’s slate of super-series to make Vixen and Vibe into hits.

11. CYBORG JOINED THE JUSTICE LEAGUE ON TV 25 YEARS BEFORE JOINING THEM IN COMICS

In the New 52 Victor Stone, AKA Cyborg, is a founding member and mainstay of the Justice League. In 1985, he was still a member of the Teen Titans — but not on TV.

In 1985’s Super-Powers Team: Galactic Guardians cartoon, the Justice League — rechristened as the Super-Powers Team — battles against various schemes of the alien god Darkseid. Teen Titans was a hot book at the time, so it made sense to add Cyborg to the ‘toon’s cast. In the first episode, he turns down League membership to continue his work with handicapped kids (something he did in Teen Titans, too). Cyborg tells Firestorm that as he has no secret identity, becoming a superhero would be something he’d never be able to turn off. He doesn’t want that.

Just the same, when Darkseid attacks Earth again, Cyborg agrees to use his built-in tech to hack Darkseid’s computers and thwart his plans. When the adventure ends, Cyborg concedes he belongs on the Super-Powers Team after all.

10. A TEENAGE BOY WITH NO POWERS ONCE KILLED OFF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE

Relax, it was only on paper.

In #16, the criminal Maestro uses body-controlling music to keep people, including the JLA, dancing helplessly during his robberies. Not being idiots, the JLA plug their ears before the big showdown — and learn that’s what the Maestro counted on. The music was a misdirection: his real weapon is a ray that hits the motor centers of the brain. With no defense against it, the JLA members helplessly dance themselves to death.

Then comes the real twist: this is actually a comic book story written by teenage fan Jerry Thomas (named for real-world fans Jerry Bails and Roy Thomas). After dreaming up the Maestro, Jerry became terrified his scheme would actually work. Turning it into a comic book, he sent it to the League (by mail, of course) and asked them to find a solution. The heroes are genuinely worried the Maestro would have won, until they realize he made a slip-up that would have given the game away. Phew, they’d have beaten him! Snapper Carr writes back to tell Jerry that he’s not a world-class mastermind after all.

9. AFTER WRITING A MOURNING SCENE, A JLA WRITER LEARNED THE CHARACTER WASN’T DEAD

The late Dwayne McDuffie wrote a number of excellent stories for the Justice League cartoons. His 2007-09 run on their comic book, however, was much less successful. Reading the issues made it obvious McDuffie was stuck steering the plots to wherever DC’s big events and crossovers needed the book to be. McDuffie later confirmed his own plans were repeatedly overruled because of what was happening elsewhere in the DCU.

The most extreme example involved Hawkgirl. She’d been on the team, without Hawkman, when McDuffie took over the book. He had plans for her character arc, then he learned he’d have to put them on hold because Grant Morrison decided to kill her in Final Crisis. McDuffie wrote a mourning scene with Hawkgirl’s ex-boyfriend Arsenal, but after it was illustrated, Geoff Johns overruled Morrison. Hawkgirl had to survive Final Crisis so that Johns could kill her and Hawkman in Blackest Night instead, and McDuffie had to rewrite Arsenal’s dialog accordingly.

A writer as good as McDuffie deserved better.

8. MARVEL PUBLISHED ITS OWN JLA SERIES IN THE 1980S

Not officially, of course, but when the excellent Squadron Supreme launched in 1985, it was obviously “What if the Justice League took over the world to save it?”

Existing on a parallel world to the main Marvel Universe, the Squadron Supreme debuted in Avengers #85. The members included Hyperion (Superman), Nighthawk (Batman), and Dr. Spectrum (Green Lantern), and later added characters such as Power Princess (Wonder Woman) and Amphibion (Aquaman). Meeting them confused the Avengers, as a similar villain team, the Squadron Sinister, existed back on the Avengers’ own Earth. The heroic teams worked things out, but every time they met after that, they still wound up punching each other out.

Squadron Supreme made the team even more JLA-ish: Nighthawk is as indomitable a Dark Knight as Batman, for instance. DC understandably didn’t feel the love, and threatened to sue. As the Squadron had been around so long, the statute of limitations thwarted DC, but low sales killed the book anyway. A radical reboot, Supreme Power, ran for 18 issues starting in 2003.
7. THE NEW 52 ORIGIN FOR THE JUSTICE LEAGUE WAS THE FIRST COMPLETE REBOOT IN 50 YEARS

The Justice League’s battle with the Appellaxians isn’t considered one of the great origins. It’s not bad, but nobody ranks it with classics like Superman, Batman, or Captain America. Nevertheless, it survived five decades without more than minor adjustments. Mostly what changed was membership. DC’s line-wide reboot in the mid-eighties shuffled the original line-up — Black Canary in, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman out — but the Appellaxian invasion stayed canon. Wonder Woman got retconned back in later.

In 2011, however, the first issue of the New 52’s Justice League tossed the Appellaxians out. The heroes come together not to fight Appellax, but Darkseid. On top of that, the individual members were new and green, and the world didn’t know whether to trust them yet. Cyborg was now one of the founding members, replacing the Martian Manhunter. Of course, DC’s ongoing Rebirth event may leave us with the original origin, both origins, or neither.

6. THE MARTIAN MANHUNTER SPIED ON HIS TEAMMATES TO LEARN THEIR SECRETS

JLA Year One was a 12-issue retcon series showing how the original Justice League team — not the original original team, but the Black Canary original team — learned to work together despite their different outlooks and personalities. It was a rocky adjustment, and nobody had it rockier than J’Onn J’Onzz.

From J’Onn’s perspective, he was an alien on a world that didn’t seem to like aliens much. He hoped his new teammates would be more accepting, but their response to alien invaders wasn’t to negotiate, it was “kill that sucker!” And sometimes mount the corpse in the JLA Trophy Room. And a Martian vulnerable to fire would be easy to overcome…

Rather than use telepathy to probe their minds, J’Onn used his shapeshifting powers and detective skills to spy on them, as he’d done with other Earth super-heroes. The League was outraged when they found out, but they eventually understood J’Onn’s motivations. When the Appellaxians, back for a rematch, use J’Onn’s files to take out all of Earth’s superheroes, the League finally gels as a team. The Appellaxians go down hard.

5. AN AWARD-WINNING JLA STORY WAS WRITTEN TO RETCON A CONTINUITY ERROR

In Justice League of America #4, the Leaguers discuss whether to pick Hawkman, Green Arrow, or Adam Strange as their new member. Readers objected, correctly, that none of the JLA could know who Adam Strange was. Adam, who appeared in Mystery in Space, was an Earthman who visited the planet Rann via the teleporting Zeta Beam. On Rann, he was the great planetary defender; on Earth, he was just Adam Strange, archeologist.

As Justice League editor Julius Schwartz and writer Gardner Fox also worked on Adam’s strip, they retconned an answer. In Mystery in Space #75, the alien tyrant Kanjar Ro uses Rann’s triple sun to give him solar-based powers like Superman’s, but at triple strength. When the JLA arrives on Rann, Kanjar Ro cleans their clocks, but Adam’s true strength is his quick wits. He deduces Kanjar Ro’s weakness, hits him with it, and saves the day. That convinced Flash to nominate him for membership, but Adam ended up losing out to Green Arrow. The story, however, was a winner in 1960s fandom’s Alley Awards, picking up the 1962 Alley for “Best Book-Length Story.”

4. THE JUSTICE LEAGUE GOT ITS NAME BECAUSE AN EDITOR THOUGHT “JUSTICE SOCIETY” SOUNDED TOO FANCY

A lot of the shine of the Silver Age came from editor Julius Schwartz and the talents under him (including Fox, Carmine Infantino, John Broome, and Murphy Anderson). They developed successful new versions of Golden Age heroes such as Hawkman, Green Lantern, and Flash, completely reinventing the characters but keeping the names. A new version of the Golden Age Justice Society of Americawas a logical next step, but this time, the name did change.

“To me ‘society’ meant something you found on Park Avenue,” Schwartz said in The Amazing World of DC Comics #14. “I felt that ‘league’ was a stronger word, one that readers could identify with because of baseball leagues.” After beating the Appellaxians in the origin story, the heroes discuss forming “a club or society” before Flash sums up their mission statement as forming “a league against evil!” Justice League that it’s been ever since. (The “of America” bit has come and gone.) Though, as the Justice Society would later succeed in its own series, apparently readers weren’t bothered by the name as much as Schwartz.

3. THE ATOM ATTENDED JLA MEETINGS IN A FLYING CHAIR

In Justice League of America #14, the JLA unanimously votes for the six-inch-high crime-fighting Atom to be the newest member … then discover none of them remember who he is. It turns out the issue’s villain, Mr. Memory, has inflicted Atom with amnesia via his de-memorizer. As a side-effect, the rest of the world’s forgotten who the Atom is as well.

Memory’s henchmen successfully turn the entire League into amnesiac drones, but Atom regains his memory and saves them. After locking up Mr. Memory, the JLA return to their HQ and the Atom attends his first meeting. There, he discovers his tiny chair is down on the floor, forcing him to make eye contact with everyone’s ankles. The Atom is kind of bummed until someone tells him to press the button on the chair arm. Surprise! The chair is designed to fly up until Atom’s at face-level with the rest of the team.

2. ONE OF DC’S OWN WRITERS FOUGHT THE JLA TO A STANDSTILL

One of the wilder conceits of DC’s original multiverse was that the “real” world was just another universe, named Earth-Prime. The Flash discovered this in Flash #166, when he stumbled into Earth-Prime and turned to DC staffers as the only ones who’d believe his story. Julius Schwartz helped him return home, but the machine Flash used stayed at the DC offices. Several years later, DC writers Cary Bates and Elliott Maggin (Bates has the beard in the photo above) discover the machine still has some power left — enough to send Maggin to Earth-One (the JLA’s world) and Bates to Earth-Two (the JSA’s home).

The criminal Injustice Society took advantage of this by turning Bates into a supervillain. Combining his new powers with his plotting ability, Bates single-handedly killed the Justice Society, then went after the JLA. He did well until Maggin shattered his confidence with a few well-placed insults about Bates’ writing. The JLA won, the JSA recovered, and Maggin and the de-powered Bates returned home. Schwartz grumbled he’d be embarrassed to use a plot that absurd.

1. BATMAN MADE A PLAN FOR DESTROYING HIS TEAMMATES, JUST IN CASE

Along with becoming increasingly darker and grimmer, Batman’s become less and less of a team player over time, Even when he’s on a team, he conducts himself like a lone wolf who doesn’t trust anyone (Lego Batman’s obsessive paranoia in the Lego Justice League videos skewers this perfectly). In the JLA’s 2000 “Tower of Babel” arc, it came back to bite him.

Batman began plotting against the League long before the story. After seeing the team repeatedly mind-controlled and duplicated, he figured out ways to cripple or kill them. Zap Superman with red kryptonite, induce water-phobia in Aquaman, and so on. You might think the Caped Crusader could keep all that in his head (“use kryptonite!” isn’t that complicated) but instead, he wrote it all down. Which proved convenient for Ra’s al Ghul, who stole the plan and used it. After the League defeated Ra’s, they and Batman decided to take a little time apart from each other, though they eventually reconciled.

Given some of the things Batman’s done to Robin over the years, perhaps his bad judgment wasn’t that surprising…

There are surely hundreds of other obscure factoids surrounding DC’s greatest group of heroes that casual fans may not know. Be sure to leave the strangest ones you know in the comments!

After the introduction of Africa Twin and Cliq in India, Honda still has two new products that would enter India this year. As they even hinted at two scooters and two bikes, one of them could belong to anyone from these two (2017 CBR150R and CBR300R) bikes. This could even be a beneficial move if considered from TVS Apache RR310S launch time frame as both will be closely performing within the same segment.

On the other hand, if New Honda CBR150R comes into action, it can prepare well for upcomingYamaha R15 V3. Bulk of buyers are buying sub 1 lakh 150cc bikes presently and entry of both these bikes could help them climb a segment up into performance 150cc biking.
It wouldn’t be an iPhone launch without some sort of “gate” controversy. In the past there’s been antenna-gate, bend-gate and now charge-gate? That appears to be the case for an iPhone user in Taiwan who claims her iPhone split open while charging.

The iPhone in question is new Gold iPhone 8 Plus (64GB). According to the user, Ms. Wu, she was charging her phone with the Lightning cable and wall plug that was included in the box. She had just purchased the iPhone 8 Plus five days earlier.

In her account of the incident, within three minutes of charging the phone, she noticed the front panel bulge before completely disconnecting from the frame. Her phone was recovered by her carrier and was out sent to Apple for analysis.

Ms. Wu wasn’t the only person affected by this issue. A Japanese user took to Twitter to show how her Silver iPhone 8 Plus had arrived in the box. It looks similar to Ms. Wu’s iPhone, with the front glass panel disconnecting from the aluminum fame.

KTM Duke 125 Review

Overview

2017 KTM Duke 125 is a small segment version of the new KTM 390 Duke with a 125cc engine. The bike gives us a fresh, aggressive design based on the same lines as Duke 390. It has some impressive array of things to offer such as bifurcated LED headlamp, all new instrument console, tank shrouds which extend to the headlight, new rear sub frame and a revised exhaust system.

Although manufactured in India, the KTM 125 Duke is not likely to be launched in the country as a price of INR 1.25 lakh+ and low fuel efficiency does not make it a good option where most bikes in the 125 cc segment come at a price of INR 55k-70k, along with very high mileage figures. Outside India, KTM Duke 125 is available in the shades of White and Orange with a tubular base frame.

Design & Style

The New Duke 125 comes with conventional naked street bike styling from KTM, coming with some sharp edge looks, which are sure to make heads turn. With the promising reliability of the brand, the bike looks like a replica of the 390 Duke with some toned down features, using the same components as the elder sibling.

2017 KTM 125 Duke is the only bike in the 125 cc segment which can show off a glorious TFT display which adapts its illumination to the surrounding light conditions. The LED headlight seems directly borrowed from 1290 SuperDuke R and the parking light also consists of 20 LEDs. The KTM 125 Duke also has extended stylized tank shrouds which are visible up to the headlights. The steel fuel tank and the high quality cast along with other aesthetic features give you a feel of a very impressive naked street bike.

Engine & Gearbox

Sure, it is normal to expect a very good performance from all the KTM Duke variants. And this one too does not disappoint, with a 124.7 cc engine giving out a power of 15 bhp @ 9500 rpm and a torque of 11.8 Nm @ 8000 rpm. It comes with a single cylinder four stroke engine which is liquid cooled. The bike comes with 6 speed manual transmission and it is a true performer in the 125cc segment with promising statistics.

Mileage

Given such power packed performance in the 125 cc segment, the KTM Duke 125 has a mileage of around 35-40 kmpl. This is not a consideration here because this bike won't make it to the Indian streets. This bike is low on fuel efficiency in the class but that won't make a difference for its international sale number.

Instrument Console

KTM Duke 125 has a single panel digital display. It comes with a digital speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, clock, odometer and a digital fuel gauge.

Safety Features

The KTM Duke 125 has first in class ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) which is unique to the 125cc segment. It uses fine technology to ensure a good user experience and enables control. It comes with an electric start, attractive split seat, pass light and pillion footrest.

Suspension

The KTM Duke 125 comes packed with high quality upside down WP suspension with open cartridge technology. The shock absorber has a progressive spring, where pre-load is adjustable providing a well balanced suspension.

Shade

KTM Duke 125 is a standard offering coming in a single Orange and White shade. This makes it look like most of it's older siblings with same color and signature styling.

Verdict

The KTM Duke 125 is a very impressive bike offering us the same panache as we find in KTM 1290 SuperDuke R. It has some serious style quotient, with the bifurcated LED lights being a show stealer. As a fan of KTM, this looks like a fair deal in the 125 cc segment and also carries the royalty coming with the brand name. It lies in the same class as Honda CBR125R and Yamaha MT-125 as competition.

Royal Enfield Classic 350 is undoubtedly the king of the current RE lineup. It sells like hot cakes with its potential to rule the streets and provide the most comfortable riding experience on the Indian highways. The motorcycle is powered by the same 346cc, 1-cylinder engine from Bullet 350, happily producing 19.8 BHP at 5250 rpm and 28 Nm of massive torque at 4000 rpm. It comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and weighs 192 kg with all fluids and a full fuel tank. Here are the pros and cons of buying the RE Classic 350 in India.

Things We Like About Royal Enfield Classic 350

1) Powerful Engine

As the engine details were given above, it becomes clear that power and Royal Enfield are good old friends. Not just that, it takes the least effort for Classic 350 to reach its maximum ability as the values are reached at relatively lower torque than all other motorcycles available in India around its segment. The engine has loads of pulling power, making it the best motorcycle when considering a ride into tough terrains like mountains and slopes.

2) Exclusive Design

No other motorcycle around its segment carries the same sort of design language as Classic 350. It comes with a full metal body that provides it with those tough guy looks. The round headlight, huge fuel tank, curved fenders and chrome spoke wheels. The divided seat is a visual bless while the exhaust is particularly shared between all RE Bullet and Classic models. The retro inspired design language gives it a unique road presence for sure.

3) Braking and Handling

Royal Enfield Classic 350 uses a front 280mm disc brake with 2-piston calipers and 153 mm drum brake for the rear. This makes it an ideal RE to drive as cutting speeds become easy and driving at higher speeds is more promising than before. It has a different handlebar than the Bullet series, providing the rider with more confidence while maneuvering in heavy traffic. The tyres are MRF 90/90-19 and 110/90-18 on the Classic 350. These are years ahead of those found on the Bullet 350 and helps the rider attain new levels of grip on the road surface.

4) Electric Start

RE provides the option of electric start on the Classic 350 as a standard feature. This helps many potential riders that are not much familiar with the kick starter to enter the RE family an enjoy riding the motorcycle in all conditions. This option also helps those who are scared of the reverse action of RE’s kick-starter, which is considered quite dangerous on old Bullet motorcycles.

5) Powerful Headlight

Royal Enfield provides the Classic 350 with 60W/55W halogen headlight that is twice as bright as normal bulbs in most motorcycles. They are extremely useful in bad weather conditions and night time driving. The presence of pass light switch makes it even more powerful and helpful in rough conditions.

6) Excellent Mileage

Everyone won’t be familiar with this term for a Royal Enfield motorcycle but many riders have claimed a mileage of around 40 kmpl from their Classic 350. The average value never drops below 35 kmpl in most riders while with careful driving and fuel efficient throttle value, it can seriously touch 40 kmpl without any hesitation. Riders do not need to worry about super constant refills as the motorcycle happily provides 500 kilometers of riding range in a full fuel tank with medium hand on the throttle.

Things We Dislike About Royal Enfield Classic 350

1) Heavyweight

RE Classic 350 weighs 192 kg and that makes it a lot more heavier than bikes of this class. For some near comparisons, we can consider the Bajaj Dominar 400 that weighs around 182 kg. The 10 kg more weight over the heaviest Bajaj makes it a bit slower in overall top speed terms. Royal Enfield is actually not known for figures like top speed or acceleration but lowering its weight from some parts could provide an even better ride quality in the coming times.

2) High Pricing

Basically a Bullet 350 with different design and added features, RE Classic 350 commands a price tag of INR 1,35,400 (ex-showroom Delhi). The addition of disc brake and electric start, along with MRF tyres makes it expensive for sure but the gap is of around INR 22,000 in both the bikes. Royal Enfield should have provided a lower tag as many buyers skip the same because the on-road price in their city crosses INR 1.50 lakh.

3) No Fuel Gauge

Well, royal feel is a different thing but a fuel gauge could have been a better addition on the RE Classic 350. What is someone takes your bike for a ride and unfortunately switches the fuel knob to reserve due to some reason? You won’t even know when your bike gets out of fuel as there would be no indication of anything before the unfortunate halt.

4) Refinement Issues

Royal Enfield should work over the refinement issues faced by thousands of fans in terms of engine noise, harsh vibrations and false neutrals. Although RE machines are made to stay longer, not every user actually knows how to go through such a phase when you spend INR 1.50 lakh and still are not satisfied with the noise of the engine when idle.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">In the world of online marketing, when you’re running ads on your blog, there are a few different ways you can get paid.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Affiliate sales. These involve you running ads that refer users to a store, where they can buy items. You get paid if they buy.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Lead generation. This is very similar to affiliate sales, except you refer people to communication with sales staff. The sales staff pay you for qualified leads – that is, people likely to buy, rather than people they can’t contact or fake information.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Pay per click. These ads sit there on your site and do nothing until they’re clicked. You get paid a small fee each time the ad is clicked by a real user. Again, it only works if the user is real, bots and repeated spam clicks from the same person don’t count.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Pay per impression. These ads sit on your site and earn you money every time they’re displayed to a real, non-repeat user. The more traffic you have, the more you can make. Because a view is so much easier than any of the above to get, these ads tend to pay a meager fee for view counts in the thousands.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Pay per impression is the easiest and least effort way to get paid for running ads on your site, hands down. The user doesn’t even need to pay attention to those ads; as long as they don’t have an ad blocker installed, they see the ads, and thus you get paid.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Because it’s so easy to get views, pay is scaled per thousand. For pay per click ads, you have a rate per click you earn. For pay per impression ads, you have an amount you earn per thousand views.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Impression advertising is often abused, unfortunately. There are dozens of traffic bots out there that claim to get around filters and work for various programs. For this reason, most of the ad networks out there – including the big one, Google AdSense – rely on a per click model.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Here’s the thing about AdSense. There are a lot of references out there to CPM advertising through AdSense. In the old days, running AdSense ads on your site was almost always a CPM – impression – payout. These days, though, very few companies want to pay for unqualified, random impressions. Instead, they want to pay for clicks or leads. Because that’s the case, AdSense ads are almost always CPC.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">If you want to switch to CPM ads, you’re going to have to drop AdSense. Some ads will occasionally run CPM through AdSense, particularly when using graphical banner ads, but those are rare. You also can’t control it; it’s determined by Google. Or, rather, it’s determined by the people using Google AdWords to pay for ads; they determine whether they want to pay for clicks or impressions, and that determines how the ads on your site run.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">CPM and CPC

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">I understand the desire to not have to worry about sales or clicks, and just make money from your traffic seeing your content. It’s a good idea, and the only thing that makes it difficult is the longtime abuse of the system. For over a decade, CPM has been ruined by people running software or gaming the system in order to make a few bucks. They make theirs, but they trash the system for everyone else.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Consider a situation where your site pulls in about 1,000 visitors per day.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">With CPC advertising, say you have a 1% click-through rate. For 1,000 visitors in a day, that’s 10 clicks.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">With CPM advertising, your click rate doesn’t matter. 1,000 visitors is 1,000 impressions.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Now, with CPC, say you’re getting $1 per click. With CPM, you might be getting $2 per thousand impressions. Now look at the examples above. With 10 clicks per day, at $1 per click, you’re making $10 per day. With CPM, 1,000 daily views at $2 per thousand means you make $2 per day.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">It’s also arguably easier to grow your click-through rate than it is to grow your traffic legitimately. That said, through the use of traffic purchasing, cheap ads, and taking advantage of viral traffic, you can boost your traffic in the short term a lot more than you can boost click rates.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Ads in different channels also have different values. According to MonetizePros, last year the value ranged from $2.80 per thousand views for standard display ads, to $5 per thousand views for ads within emails.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">There’s a lot of variation in the industry, however. It tends to have a lot to do with niches and keywords, as well as ad placement. Video ads can be much more lucrative, for example. Consider this: the more traffic a niche has – the larger it is – the lower your CPM payouts are going to be.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Why is this? Think about it from the side of the business paying for the ads. If you’re in a broad niche, like video games or health food or exercise, it’s really easy to get a lot of traffic. You don’t want to pay a ton for the traffic, because there’s so much of it you’d lose out. On the other hand, in a very narrow niche with very little traffic, you’re willing to pay more for it because you can do more with it.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">CPM in general isn’t all that widely used these days. Most of the people using it tend to be running sites where they don’t care about the quality of the traffic; they have ways to monetize it that exploit loopholes or don’t require user actions. They don’t want to spend a lot, so they go for CPM over CPC. What that means is that, more so than the low payments, the primary point of failure with CPM ads is the quality of those ads and the sites they advertise.

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Investing in CPM

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">If you want to get paid via CPM despite all of the arguments against it, you’re going to have to monitor your inbox and prove yourself. There are two ways to do CPM.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Join a CPM ad network, or a hybrid network that allows you to choose.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Attract the attention of an agency that represents a private CPM network.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">The former is the route most CPM publishers take, while the latter is the more lucrative and difficult of the two options.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Before I go into dealing with agencies and private networks, let’s first talk about the public CPM networks.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">The primary problem with public CPM networks is, as I’ve mentioned, the quality of the sites and site owners involved with the network. A network is only as good as the people paying into it and the people running its ads. A lot of the sites on both sides of the equation for pure CPM will be bottom of the barrel, low budget, maybe even spam sites. The networks make money from a commission, but both the payments and payouts are minor, so they have to thrive on volume. Therefore, they don’t regulate or vet their publishers or advertisers very strictly.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">If you’re interested in a public CPM network, here are some options for you to explore:
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">You might like:
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Technorati
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">CPXi
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Index Exchange
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Rhythm One
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Conversant
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Tribal Fusion
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Each of these has benefits and drawbacks. Technorati is simple and focused on CPM ads. Rhythm One is a more modern rebrand of an older network. Conversant is a hybrid with affiliate and CPC ads as well. Tribal Fusion is one of the oldest remaining ad networks and advertises higher than average rates. I’ll leave it to you to investigate each of them and see if your site fits with their requirements.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Speaking of requirements, you might not get into all of these networks on the first attempt. See, for CPM to be lucrative, you need volume. You need a lot of traffic. Some will have higher requirements than others, but they don’t always publish them publicly. You’ll have to do some digging, contact account reps, or just apply and see if you qualify.

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">CPM Only

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">CPM agencies represent private CPM networks. Private networks have a lot of benefits where public networks don’t. Primarily, because they carefully vet their clients and publishers, they can maintain a high level of quality for both sides. They will only work with you if you refer a high volume of great traffic. Likewise, they only work with advertisers who have real, good products to advertise, who stay within the quality boundaries, and who have budgets to pay a reasonable rate.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">That’s the single biggest benefit of a private network; the money. With the higher level of quality comes higher per-thousand rates.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Agencies will typically approach you, not the other way around. Therefore, in order to contract one, you need to become noteworthy enough to attract their attention. This means publishing quality content, attracting a sizable audience, and making it easy for them to contact you. It also means combing through your spam emails, because a lot of times the sort of messages these agencies send will trip spam filters. Be very careful! Always investigate a network before you sign any contract or implement any code, just in case they’re trying to pull a fast one.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Quality is very important because in an agency-run private network, there’s oversight on both sides. You will have veto power over the ads that run on your site, so you can stop ads that you deem too irrelevant or negative for your brand or visitors. Likewise, advertisers will be able to decline your site as part of the sites running their ads, for any of the same reasons.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">In exchange for all of the vetting and service the agency provides, it will take a steep cut from the payments coming from advertiser to publisher. You could expect that if an advertiser is paying $10 per thousand views, you’re getting $5 per thousand, with the agency taking the rest. While this seems steep – and 50% is no joke – public networks often start with $2 per thousand from the advertiser and go down from there.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">CPM as Supplemental Income
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Here’s the thing. Imagine a scenario where you get in a premium private ad network, and you manage the impossible by getting a 100% fill rate – that is, always ads displayed – with those high value ads. You’re getting $20 per thousand views. Now, you want to make a living from your site, and this seems like a good setup. How many visitors do you need to make $1,500 a month? You would need 75,000 views per month, all of them qualified.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">This is an absolute best-case scenario. You might be able to pull it off, but it will take a lot to manage anywhere near that amount of money for CPM. You’re more likely to be operating with CPM payments closer to $2 per thousand views. In which case, you would need 750,000 views per month; a much less feasible number.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">No matter how good your traffic or how high your volume, you’re going to be making money in some other way as well if you want to be bringing in decent paychecks. You’ll be running CPC ads on the side, or selling memberships to premium content, or selling ebooks. The possibilities are endless, though they all take a lot of work.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">CPM is, and always will be, supplemental income. It’s just too hard to monetize views for any reasonable amount of money, at least without significant investment first.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Making Yourself More Attractive for CPM
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Large Site Analytics Example
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">If you’re trying to attract a CPM agency, or just trying to get into one of the more exclusive CPM networks, you have some work to do.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">The number one thing you want to do is get more traffic, but you need to get it legitimately. You can’t go out and buy traffic to make your numbers look better; chances are the traffic you’re buying is more expensive than the money you’d be making with the CPM ads, so you’re just losing out. You also can’t game the system with bots; they’ll be caught and you’ll be removed from the platform with your payments withheld. Beyond sheer traffic volume, though, there’s more you can do.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Expand within your niche so you can cover as much ground as possible, to attract advertisers with interests that may not align 100% with your own, but are close enough to be reasonable on at least some sizable portion of the content on your site. You won’t be able to go full-on generalist blog, not even the biggest blogs alive do that, but you can probably stand to expand somewhat beyond what you’re currently covering.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Experiment with the ability to place ad units in unconventional locations. If you run videos, you can use video ads on any video you don’t host directly on YouTube. If you have a responsive design or a dedicated app, you can run mobile or app units, which typically pay more than just your basic website ads. You can even consider opening up a slot for ads in your mailing list newsletter.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">You should also strive to put ads in places where they’re most visible. A banner ad at the top of the page is going to earn you more than a banner ad in your footer. It’s more of an algorithmic thing; when the page loads it counts a view one way or the other, but the network or agency sees that the ad is hidden out of the way and thus gives you less for it.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Don’t over-do it with ads. The more ads you have, the spammier your site looks. I know with the low value of CPM it’s easy to think you can double your revenue by adding a second ad to a page, but that kind of thinking will eventually drive away users and earn you a search penalty. It s a technique used by spam sites and you don’t want to look like you run with that crowd.
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: x-large;">Finally, do what you can to supplement your CPM income with other forms of income. The more reliant you are upon meager payments, the more you’re going to go out of your way to focus on them, and the more likely you are to accidentally do something that hurts you. I don’t care if you have to sell ebooks, run consulting, or make a member’s section of your site; you need a second source of income if you want to be able to grow CPM naturally.

Yamaha India was the first brand to display the revised prices on their official website in such a way that users can see the price difference in their respective states with just two clicks. They helped many understand the concept of GST as those bikes which saw INR 1000 going from ex-Delhi price had a reduction of around INR 5,000 in Madhya Pradesh.

The uniformity in prices was well applauded by the fans as Yamaha was the only brand to bring down the price of FZ25 to a lower point than it was launched in the country. They were even the best ones when it came to passing of GST benefits properly.

Yamaha currently has an extensive lineup of products, starting from 110cc and moving to 250cc in the locally manufactured segment. The list includes six scooters, including their drum and disc brake variants.

Yamaha Saluto RX is the most affordable product at INR 47,700 while Yamaha FZ25 is the flagship here with INR 1,19,300 of price tag. It is even the most powerful option with 20.6 BHP and 20 Nm of torque. It weighs just 148 kg and comes out as the only Yamaha bike to sprint from 0-100 kmph under 10 seconds. Apart from them, Yamaha R15 and FZ are two most popular sport bikes series of India.
