400cc Bajaj Engine Under Development, New 400cc Bike Launch In 2018

A recent report in the automotive industry claims that Bajaj Auto is currently working on a new400cc Bajaj Engine (DOHC) that will use triple spark technology, in house developed ECU and different gearing. The new motorcycle is expected to bring almost 40 HP of maximum power. Bajaj Auto has announced the launch of two new products for January 2018, one of which is expected to be the new Avenger. As they also cleared the air of a bigger Pulsar coming next month, the launch is expected to bring big numbers to the company lineup. That makes this development and January launch two different affairs. Bajaj Auto is losing a big share from the commuter centric market and they are preparing to gain almost 3-4% from the Indian market. That is actually not possible with a 400cc motorcycle. Pulsar RS400, the worthy performance upgrade to RS200, has the highest chances of getting this new power-train as Avenger 400 would not be tuned to a higher spec version than Bajaj Dominar 400. But in a tragic incident in Jaipur, a helmet was the villain which resulted in the death of a 34-year-old man in Jaipur on Thursday. That too, it was no ordinary protection, it was a AGV - K3 helmet worth Rs 50,000, known for its quality and durability. Rohit Singh Shekhawat, a superbike enthusiast from Jaipur died after his Rs 22 lakh Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R slipped off the road and crashed on Thursday. Shekhawat, who worked as a sales manager with an automotive company died of brain hemorrhage after his helmet got stuck on his head. He met with the accident while returning home after he tried to save a man crossing the road.
